A towering temple complex atop the Vaikunta Hill off Kanakapura Main Road, complete with theme parks reinventing mythological episodes, 4-D experience theatres, and much more.

Promising to realise all this in 36 months flat, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), Bangalore, is all set to perform the project, “Krishna Lila Park’s” Bhoomi Pooja on Sunday.
At an estimated cost of Rs 350 crore, the Park project on 28 acres of land is definitely on a mega scale. But, Iskcon had to come through a taxing tiff with State Congress Working President D K Shivakumar before it went ahead with the project. Family edutainment According to Iskcon the objective of the grand project, packaged in a ‘family edutainment format’, is to present, preserve and promote the cultural heritage of India as portrayed in the ancient Indian classics, to the contemporary society, in an interesting and captivating presentation.
The idea is to transport visitors to the time and place of the different episodes of the Mahabharata, Bhagavata and Ramayana. Recreated is a scene where King Indra threatened the Vrajavasis to inundate their village because he was angered with their refusal to perform the yearly puja. This is shown with torrential rains, blasts of thunder and lightening and the consequent flooding of the Yamuna, recreated with dramatic effect.
The main temple complex building will be about 360 feet tall, with a viewing gallery at 500 ft level. The Krishna Heritage Tower will house the Sri Puri Jagannath Mandir and the Sri Radha Krishna Mandir. At the 500 ft level, the complex will have the Sri Venkateshwara Sky Temple.
Iskcon maintained that it would raise Rs 350 crore for the project by developing the 42.5 acre land near the hillock as a heritage township. The proposed structuring of the project is to set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) consisting of two trusts, the Iskcon Charities and India Heritage Foundation.
